FORMATIVE AREA Activities

The activities, just like the length of the visits, must be planned beforehand by means of agreement between the organizers of the visit Sotavento.

We consider this previous contact basic for the correct development of the activities, because of the possibility of changing timetables, closing activities and a centering the explorations on the interests and concerns of the participants.
Sotavento offers the possibility to clarify or suggest any change dealing with the initial development of the visits on number 981 - 56 37 77.

The main characteristics that define the activities offered at Sotavento Wind Farm are:

The length of the visits con vary between 2 and 7 hours, depending on the ages, anxieties and formative level of the participants.

We relate in detail some of the activities that can be developed at Sotavento Experimental Wind Farm.

• Guided visits, not only visiting the Wind Farm ("Ruta das Pedras", "Ruta do Vento" and "Mamoas"), but also the inside of the facilities.
• Development of formative and technical classes related to different types of energy.
• Technical and informative video projection sessions regarding renewable energy and energetic efficiency.
• Entertaining technical workshops for primary and secondary school children and vocational training students, as well as a variety of games, depending on weather.
• There is also the possibility for the teachers themselves to impart classes in the auditorium followed by a practical visit around the facilities.
