Sotavento Surpasses 300,000 Visitors in 2024

Sotavento surpasses 300,000 visitors. The 300,000th visitor was a 16-year-old girl from CPI Santa Lucía de Moraña.

Throughout 2024, we received a total of 9,192 visitors, distributed across 243 visits, representing an increase of nearly one thousand people compared to 2023. In this way, Sotavento establishes itself as a leading center in energy education training for Galician students and those from other autonomous communities.
40% of participants in our educational activities came from Secondary Schools, followed by technical groups and Primary Schools as the most significant groups. Additionally, during this year we developed specific teacher training activities.
Furthermore, Sotavento constitutes an ideal tool for the wind energy sector, and this year numerous drone pilot courses were conducted for wind turbine inspection, as well as rescue drills and plans adapted to wind turbines.
Among other activities of interest, we highlight our participation in Enerxetika 2024 (Silleda Energy Fair) and the reception in May of the ambassadors from the 27 countries of the European Union.
In the tourism sector, and as has been customary in recent years, Sotavento generates interest among major tour operators that offer the park’s activities to various cruise lines. Thus, both in this concluding year and in 2025, various international cruises calling at Galician ports will visit this unique facility.
For the first half of 2025, 4,000 people have already scheduled appointments at Sotavento, and we maintain a waiting list of more than 1,000 students for the next academic year.
